Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how GOAT MODE ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our app.

1. Information We Collect

Account and profile information (first name, age, country, stroke/events, level, training frequency, competition details, goals, challenges, coaching style); sensitive information (daily check-in ratings, journal entries, race-prep notes, and AI Coach conversations, including messages flagged by our automated safety system); consumer health data (check-ins, mood/stress ratings, and wellbeing-related coach conversations may qualify as consumer health data under state laws like Washington's My Health My Data Act — we do not sell this data or use it for targeted advertising, ever); account credentials; payment information (handled by Stripe — we don't store full card numbers); basic usage data; and parental-consent status for users under 18.

We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide the App's features; personalize AI Coach responses using your swimmer profile; process payments; run our server-side crisis-safety screening (which checks messages for language indicating possible self-harm before any AI response is generated); maintain security; communicate with you about your account; and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information, share it with advertisers, or use it to train third-party advertising profiles.

3. Who We Share Information With

Service providers under confidentiality obligations: Supabase (database, auth, storage), Stripe (payments), and Google Gemini, accessed via our app platform's built-in AI Gateway (receives your message content and relevant profile context to generate coaching responses only — not your name, payment info, or credentials). Google's policy is that paid API usage isn't used to improve its products. We don't share with data brokers. If legally required to disclose your information, we'll notify you unless prohibited by law.

4. Data Retention

We retain your check-in, journal, and chat data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we permanently delete this data within 30 days, except messages flagged by our crisis-safety system (retained up to 3 years for safety/compliance) and records we must keep longer for legal reasons. You can delete your account anytime from account settings.

5. Crisis-Safety Data Handling

Messages flagged by our automated crisis-detection system are logged internally so flagged volume can be reviewed for safety. They are never used for marketing or profiling.

6. Children's Privacy

GOAT MODE is intended for users 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13; if we learn we have, we delete it promptly. For users 13-17, we rely on parental/guardian consent obtained at sign-up. We do not sell or share the personal information of any user we know to be under 16.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data, or withdraw consent. Washington residents and residents of states with similar consumer health data laws can additionally confirm what consumer health data we hold, get a list of third parties it's shared with, and request its deletion. Contact us via the address listed in the App, or use the delete-account option in the App.

8. Security Incident Notification

If a security incident compromises your personal information in a way that triggers a legal notice obligation, we'll notify affected users and regulators within the timeframe required by law.

9. Age Verification

We ask for your age at sign-up. Users under 13 cannot create an account. We don't currently use enhanced age-verification (like ID checks).

10. Security

We use encryption in transit, database-level row security so users can only access their own data, and access controls on our infrastructure. No system is completely secure.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy; material changes will be announced in-App or by email before taking effect.
