Community Guidelines

These guidelines cover GOAT MODE's Team feature (squads) and how swimmers should treat each other and the AI Coach. They apply to every squad member regardless of age.

What Team/Squads Are

A squad is joined via a 6-character invite code. Inside a squad you get a shared streak board, optional GOAT Score sharing, and preset "nudges" — a fixed list of short pre-written positive messages ("Proud of you," "Keep going," etc.). Squads exist to make consistency social; they are not a replacement for talking to your real coach and teammates.

No Free-Text Messaging — By Design

GOAT MODE Team has no chat, no DMs, no comments, and no way to type a free-form message to another user — only the fixed nudge options. This is intentional: because many of our users are minors, there is no text-messaging surface between users. Don't try to encode other messages by repurposing nudges.

GOAT Score Sharing Is Opt-In

Score sharing is off by default and can be toggled anytime in the Team tab. When it's on, your score is visible only to your specific squad — never public, and never outside your squad.

Invite Codes

Share your invite code only with people you actually train or compete with. Don't post codes publicly. You can leave a squad anytime from the Team tab.

Using Nudges Respectfully

Nudges are for encouragement. Repeating the same nudge to make a point, or sending nudges sarcastically to single someone out, is not acceptable use even though the wording itself is positive.

AI Coach Conduct

The AI Coach is one-to-one and is not visible to your squad. Use it for mental-performance coaching related to swimming — not to generate harassment or bullying content, or anything unrelated to mental training. Every message is screened for crisis language before any AI reply is generated — see Safety & Mental Health Disclaimers and the Crisis Detection Protocol.

If Something Feels Wrong

Tell a parent, guardian or coach, and email [SUPPORT EMAIL] so we can look into it. We can remove a user from a squad, or from GOAT MODE entirely, for violating these guidelines.
